The representation of these assets using a fund or another structure on a blockchain has the potential to improve access and transaction speed. Simplified Access

WisdomTree Connect platform is designed to offer institutions streamlined access to traditional investment products, like Money Market Funds, available in tokenized form. For example, the platform eliminates the need to go “off chain” for yield-bearing investment vehicles through an easy-to-use gateway.

The digital funds available via WisdomTree Connect are registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

Subscriptions and Redemptions via US Dollars or USDC

The platform offers institutions the option to transact in their preferred method, using US Dollars or USDC 1.

Self- or Third Party-Custodial Wallet

The platform allows users to hold tokens in their self-hosted wallets or with a third-party custodian, enabling users to manage their holdings and tokens in their current wallet infrastructure. Tokens will be available on Ethereum with additional blockchains to be added.

1. What is WisdomTree Connect?

  • WisdomTree Connect is a solution for both business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-business-to-consumer (B2B2C) . WisdomTree Connect enables clients to interact with available WisdomTree-issued tokens, in any eligible, verified and permissioned self-hosted wallet or third-party custodial wallet service, across supported blockchains via a web portal and API.

  • This platform seeks to seamlessly connect traditional finance with decentralized finance (DeFi), facilitating the integration of mainstream assets with innovative on-chain delivery methods. Leveraging blockchain technology, the platform seeks to provide access to a range of tokenized products, solutions, and tools. This integration not only connects mainstream assets with on-chain delivery methods but also has the potential to reshape how financial entities interact and grow in the digital age.

2. How do wallets get connected to the platform?

  • The Portal is EVM (Ethereum Virtual Machine) compatible, enabling investors to interact with available WisdomTree-issued tokens, across supported blockchains.

  • Eligible, verified and permissioned wallets will be able to connect to WisdomTree Connect through their self-custody or third-party custodians.

3. What blockchains are supported on the Portal?

  • The platform currently supports Ethereum.

  • We are actively expanding support to other EVM compatible chains.

4. What is the minimum investment order?

  • There are no platform minimums at this time.

5. What currencies are available to transact through WisdomTree Connect?

  • The Portal currently facilitates transactions through USDC via our Stablecoin Conversion service or fiat (USD) for both subscriptions and redemptions.

6. API Documentation

  • API connectivity to WisdomTree products is available. Our API documentation will only be distributed to clients that have signed a non-disclosure agreement. Please contact us if you are interested.

1. What types of entities can access WisdomTree Connect?

  • The WisdomTree Connect portal (“Portal”) is currently only available to institutional investors:
    • An associated person of an investment adviser that is either registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 or with a state securities commission (or any agency or office performing like functions);
    • An entity with total assets of at least $50 million;
    • A FINRA member or registered associated person of such member;
    • A bank, savings and loan association, insurance company, or registered investment company;
    • A governmental entity or subdivision thereof;
    • An employee benefit plan or qualified plan that and has at least 100 participants; or
    • A person acting solely on behalf of a person or entity referenced in (i) through (vi) above.

2. What is the onboarding process?

  • Prospective institutional investors must complete customer due diligence verification in accordance with anti-money laundering and other applicable regulations in order to be able to invest and onboard the customer’s designed wallet on a supported blockchain via WisdomTree Connect. Once the customer due diligence process is complete, a member from our team will send out legal documentation and coordinate signatures for authorized users.

  • Prospective institutional investors can start by completing the interest form here on the website. Once completed, a member from our team will contact you to schedule a call to begin the onboarding process. The purpose of the call is to introduce the platform, review products and processes, assess eligibility, and answer any questions the prospective client might have.  

3. How is the platform permissioned?

  • Permission is granted only to registered wallets, thereby restricting the ability to transact in tokenized shares to pre-approved participants. Once the prospective investor completes the onboarding process, an onchain attestation, represented by a non-transferable ERC-721 or soulbound NFT, is issued to the investor’s wallet and only those registered wallets can participate in transactions. WisdomTree issued soulbound NFTs cannot be transferred and can be revoked by WisdomTree in the event that client status or conditions change. Shareholders can also peer-to-peer transfer tokens to other onboarded shareholders with verified and permissioned wallets as described above with the Transfer Agent maintaining the official record of share ownership. In this manner, WisdomTree prevents transactions between unknown persons or unknown blockchain wallets.  Please read the Fund prospectus for more information. 

  • Separately, the WisdomTree Connect Portal for Fund purchases and redemptions is permissioned via IP whitelisting, a process completed during onboarding. Each entity must validate, among other qualifications, that it is an institutional investor as defined by U.S. law.

1. What is the expected timeline for clients to invest and redeem from our products?

  • The generally expected time frame for the settlement of purchases and redemptions of WTGXX (the currently available Fund) on U.S. trading days is T+0 (same day). Orders and payments must be received by the applicable cut-off time on U.S. trading days (12:00 pm ET) to receive fund shares the same day. Subscriptions and redemptions generally settle shortly after the NAV strike at 4:00 pm ET.

2. Are there fees associated with transactions executed through the Portal?

  • There are no transaction, subscription or minting fees or other service fees for transactions in WTGXX. Investors are responsible for gas fees* and Circle’s mint/burn fees** if utilizing USDC via the stablecoin conversion service.  With respect to peer-to-peer transfers, the parties engaged in such transactions will be responsible for any applicable gas fees.

* Gas fees: Fees that need to be paid to miners or validators in order to facilitate transactions and execute smart contracts.

** Mint/burn fees: “Mint” is the process of creating new tokens and adding them to the circulating supply, while "burn" is permanently removing tokens from circulation. These are fees charged by Circle when utilizing USDC via the Stablecoin Conversion Service in minting (subscriptions) and / or burning tokens for our tokenized funds (redemptions). Clients of WisdomTree Connect are responsible for mint/burn fees associated with the Stablecoin Conversion Service.

1. What products are currently available to purchase through the WisdomTree Connect Portal?

  • Currently, the Portal offers investors access to the WisdomTree Government Money Market Digital Fund (WTGXX). This Fund is designed to provide investors with a high level of current income consistent with preservation of capital and liquidity and the maintenance of a stable $1.00 net asset value (NAV) per share.

2. What additional products may be available through WisdomTree Connect?

  • In addition to WTGXX, we have developed a suite of 12 other tokenized funds covering equity, fixed income, and asset allocation strategies, as well as tokenized gold, which may be available via WisdomTree Connect in the future. Future products are also in the pipeline for WisdomTree Connect as they become available and as we continue to innovate. Our products can serve as a solution for increased optionality to clients’ treasury management with potential for enhanced diversification as well as yield opportunities.
